- Is part of the cutting line
- The cassettes with the semi-products affixed to the pins are inserted into the cassette holders (canters) and the semi-products are then cut under the set apical angle of the surface (facet) by means of the gradual tilting (lifting) of the semi-products to the cutting tool – first on the lower side and then on the other side after re-cementing.
- After each individual facet has been cut, the cassette holder is slightly raised and all of the pins in the given cassette rotate around their own axis to the set angle.
- Once all of the facets have been cut on both sides of the semi-product, the cassette is transferred to the polishing machine.
- The multi-angle cutting of the semi-products is realized with a single clamping operation of the cassette thanks to the programmable tilting operations.
- Plane cutting in order to ensure the perfect flatness of all the cut facets.
- The complete cutting of the semi-product with a single clamping operation of the cassette eliminates inaccuracy arising from the transfer between individual cassette holders with different tilting angles.
Programmed movements:
- Tilting the cassette holder – this designates the angle of the cut facets.
- The rotation of the pins in the cassette – this designates the number of facets in a single cut plane.
- The feed of the cassette holder to the cutting tool – this designates the size of the reduction during cutting.
- The oscillating movements of the cassette holder – equal wear on the cutting tool along its entire working surface.
